Fall 2023 Workshops and Classes

Studio Workshops

Join me for a relaxing afternoon of watercolor painting in my Corning, NY studio, or from anywhere in the world! All ability levels are welcome, and no experience is necessary.

• Sunday, September 24, 1–4 p.m.
• Sunday, November 12, 1–4 p.m.

Working with plant specimens and source photos, students will learn to draw and paint plants with accurate detail. We will go over the basics of botanical drawing and watercolor painting techniques. I will be teaching the classical botanical style of working in thin transparent layers of watercolor. Our plant subjects will be different for each workshop, usually what's in season.

How to Register

Register for In-person Workshop, supplies provided: $50 per person per class

Supplies provided in-person:

• Watercolor palette.
• Watercolor paint: Primary colors: Yellow, Red, blue, green.
• Variety of watercolor brushes: large and small flat, large and small round brushes.
• Drawing pencil, eraser.
• Watercolor paper, 140 lb hot press or cold press.
• Paper towels, cup for water.
• Clean board for painting on, painters tape.
• Live plant specimens and painting examples.

Register for Virtual Workshop: $30 per person per class

With this registration, you will receive:

• A link to the virtual meeting
• Photographs of the project
• Source materials to work from.

Materials you will need:

• Watercolor palette, or clean white plate.
• Watercolor paint: Primary colors - Yellow, Red, blue, green.
• Variety of watercolor brushes: large and small flat, large and small round brushes.
• Drawing pencil, eraser.
• Watercolor paper, suggested 140 lb hot press or cold press.
• Paper towels, cup for water.
• Clean board for painting on, painters tape.

Register for Virtual Workshop with local supply pick-up: $40 per person per class

With this registration, you will receive:

• A link to the virtual meeting
• Photographs of the project
• Source materials to work from
• Includes Art Materials to pick at my studio:
• Watercolor palette with primary colors, plus additional colors.
• Variety of watercolor brushes: large and small flat, large and small round brushes.
• Drawing pencil, eraser.
• Drawing paper, 140lb Watercolor paper.
